Department of Electronics and communication Engineering was established in 1999 with an intake of 60 and in the year 2005 it had been increased to 180. The department has started post graduate courses (M. Tech) in VLSI during 2008-09 with intake of 18 and EMBEDDED SYSTEMS during 2010-11 with intake of 18


To impart technical education through latest pedagogical techniques and transform students into competent, committed & creative professionals, with abilities to address the challenges of the century for the benefit of society by imparting high quality education with human values and to emerge as a premier center for Electronics & Communication Engineering.


  • To provide high quality academic programmes, training activities and research facilities to the students of Electronics and Communication Engineering in the related field.

  • To develop capabilities and skillful in undertaking the core designs of Electronics and Communication Engineering supported by continuous industry - institute interaction aimed at employability.

  • To provide leadership and research aptitude among students of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

  • To inculcate the exploration skills among the students for the contribution of economic and technological development in national and as well as global arena.

Program Educational Objectives(PEOs)

  • Engineering Essentials. To provide students with substantial in-depth knowledge in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering fundamentals necessary to solve engineering problems pertaining to industry and research.

  • Complex problems analysis and solutions. To analyze complex Electronics and Communications Engineering problems and use research based knowledge to provide valid solutions by applying appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering tools.

  • Entrepreneurship and lifelong learning. To foster innovation, invention and entrepreneurship by enabling the graduates to transform their ideas to proof-of-concepts for technical applications and engage themselves in the life long learning with the knowledge of project management and finance.

  • Social Responsibility & Ethical Values.To inculcate professional and ethical values among the students for the successful professional career with a commitment to provide postulated engineering solutions assessing social, health, safety and legal issues in a broader cultural, societal and environmental contest.


A VLSI lab with Synopsys Back-end tools has been established. The department conducts at least 5 training programs on this lab serving not only our students but also outsiders. During 2009-10, Embedded Systems Lab has been established with very unique facilities, probably not usually found in normal engineering institutions. The department also had Texas instruments embedded systems Lab with advanced and very recent hardware like full-fledged ARM development resources and tools.

R&D Projects

The incubation center is presently active with two DST sponsored programs: “Realization of IP based wireless sensor network with emphasis on image transfer and on demand routing” – a project based on Wireless sensor networks “Development of non-intrusive system for real-time monitoring and prediction of driver fatigue and drowsiness”- a project based on Image processing. Department has initiated a students’ club christened “Eclatz” (an aura of excellence) in 2010. Students plan and schedule the activities for each semester and execute the same under department’s supervision. The department brings out a quarterly newsletter “Ec Zpravy” to help the students get abreast with latest technologies and ongoing research.


Ms.D.Bindu Tushara (2005-09) batch won two gold medals for securing first position in terms of percentage among all JNTU-H affliated colleges. A final year project done by students have won first prize in project competition held at vignan university in VIGNAN MAHOTSAV
