The institute engages highly qualified and experienced faculty members to promote analytical and critical thinking in the process of teaching and learning in a congenial learning environment. This proves to be promising in moulding students to suit the professional needs of the industry. The institution is committed to infuse in students, research oriented learning, strive to explore innovative ideas and adapt to industry needs. As part of innovative practices in the institution, the students are made to develop innovative models of projects right from the second year of the B.Tech course onwards which are later evaluated by experienced senior professors. Necessary suggestions are provided to the students which they carry out in their projects for better results.

Environment/ Sense of sustainability

The need to contribute to the higher education and maintaining ethical values in the system of engineering education is one of the core values that the institute strives for. Apart from enabling a positive working, learning and research-oriented environment, VITS highly values green initiatives thus contributing to environment sustainability. The aesthetic sense in the campus and other practices like solar power system, waste management, rain water harvest structure are some illustrations for its quest to value the planet and also sharing the responsibility of protecting the environment for posterity. Considering the faster rate of environmental degradation, the students are encouraged to participate in certain activities related to environmental conservation.

Academic and Personal Integrity

With an intention to provide quality education, VITS is committed to academic honesty and personal integrity which are its foundation stones. The management, faculty members and students adhere to institutional policies. The work environment promotes and encourages principles like: respecting each other and institutional policies, willingness to work, setting an example, accountability etc. Faculty members are well-informed of their work in advance and they stay focused at work. Team management is the work culture of the institution where all the employees share responsibilities equally and work in tandem. All the faculty members communicate clearly to the students that no kind of dishonest related to academics will be encouraged. Awareness is created among students and staff regarding plagiarism and they are asked not to falsify any academic related information and research output. This move certainly attributes to academic integrity by promoting ethics in the students as they understand that copying others’ work hampers their learning and in turn damages their intellectual integrity.
